After the gallery building was completed in 2012, Clotilde Antelme was invited to work with us on the grounds of the Foundation in Kyemihoko. An experienced landscape designer and horticulturalist working in the tropical island of Mauritius, Clotilde provided much needed inspiration, expertise and insight into the planning and laying out of our outdoor spaces.  The area surrounding our gallery space was earmarked for a potential Sculpture Park and that of Foundation House for more accessible everyday living.  Over a period of a few weeks, working with our team of gardeners and ground workers, she set out to design and plan the layout and groundwork.  With the assistance of the head gardener they went on to take cuttings from local flowering shrubs and trees and transplant existing indigenous species in order to propagate dwindling specimens. She shared her invaluable knowledge, provided helpful practical guidance for the successful propagation of species and the sustainability of our plant and tree nursery.
