Immediately after a carving workshop in Moroto in Karamoja country, and with stones brought back from there, a further carving workshop followed at the Foundation’s studios, led by Michael Cooper and Martin Jennings assisted by André Beavis. Ugandan sculptors Isaac Okwir and Peter Oloya were introduced to carving using rarely used Moroto marble and soapstone.
